Sydney Botulinum treatment (BoTox for short) is now popular amongst fashionable Sydney society in fact it is becoming a beauty routine must for people in Sydney.

Nonetheless I never fail to be dumbfounded when I listen to the rumours surrounding the procedure.

Here I have included a selection of the popular mistakes often heard at Star Cosmetic Medicine located in Pyrmont, Sydney.

Myth # 1: BoTox can freeze the muscles in my face!

Underneath the skin of the face are about sixty muscles. They usually work in harmony, but over a period of time lines can appear. Too great a dose of Botulinum Toxin may result in the forehead looking slightly less taut. Broadly speaking physicians use relatively low dosages to result in you seeming ‘refreshed’, however you will still appear every bit as animated.

By using small amounts of the preparation in just the right muscles facial expression is retained whilst any fine lines are reduced.

Myth # 2: Botulinum is a poison!
There is a grain of truth in this. Its medical name is Botulinum Toxin Type A. An overdose can end up in loss of muscle tone and may cause sickness.

But to put matters into perspective: an ancient pharmacy saying is that ‘everything is a poison - all depending on the dose’. Any drug in a large enough amount may make you unwell. If you drink too much water it can kill you.

Be sure to go to this really inspiring source for Botox Sydney clues!

Myth # 3: BoTox injections will be painful!
In our practice Star Cosmetic Medicine the doctor will use needles finer than a hair. Some individuals liken the shots to mosquito bites. Certainly not as sore as getting a regular shot.

Myth # 4: BoTox will deaden my face!
Untrue. BoTox affects the neuromuscular junction, and not on sensate nerve fibers. Just the ability to relax your muscles is impacted by BoTox injections.

Myth # 5. You cannot stop getting BoTox otherwise the lines become worse!
Also incorrect.

The first set of injections lasts approximately 3 months. Consequent treatments tend to last longer. Eventually as muscle strength builds up again the lines will slowly reform. However they definitely will not be deeper than before the treatment.

Even if you do not have BoTox again - any wrinkles will in all probability be a little smoother than if you had not undergone the treatment. Principally due to the fact that you have allowed your skin to have a ‘wrinkle holiday’ for a few months.

As we try to keep a youthful outlook on life, we attempt to lead a healthier lifestyle including improved in diet and supplements. Sun block comes to the rescue during hot and sunny days along with it’s friend, the wide-brimmed hat. For those of a more adventurous slant, stretching exercise such as Pilates and Yoga come into the equation.

Despite all this, age still takes it’s toll on our health and beauty. Nothing can prevent the enevitable effects of age but couldn’t we at least hope to put it off for a short while? A momentary look caught in the bedroom mirror reveals lines and wrinkles that maybe weren’t there the day before. The somewhat unstoppable pace of our aging is mainly down to the fact that we do not know what is needed to slow down the aging process.

During their youth, people’s bodies have natural stores of a substance called collagen and it is this abundance of collagen that is the key. Skin and hair are prime repositories for collagen. As we get older and the natural collagen reserves are depleted and not replaced, skin will begin to wrinkle, and hair can lose it’s luscious qualities. To add to the visual effects, joint pain acquired as we mature can be partly attributed to a increasing lack of collagen (assuming that the joints were healthy before).

Help is at hand though in the form of collagen supplements. A regular course of collagen supplements can replace lost collagen. As opposed to collagen injections which can temporarily provide relief, orally ingested collagen has been proven to have longer lasting effects.

The collagen that needs replenishing comes in two types - Type I and Type II. These two types are found in the main areas of our body where we feel the effects collagen lose the most - skin, hair, muscles, bones, and tendons.

As denoted by the name, collagen “supplements” are meant to be taken in parallel with a healthy lifestyle. An elixir of youth they aren’t but combined with some or all of the practices mentioned at the start of this article, collagen supplements can provide an increase collagen replenishment and stave off some of the more unsightly and painful aspects of aging.

Botulinum medicine (shortened to BoTox) is swiftly becoming the latest craze in Sydney society and these days it has become a grooming essential for those in the city. But I am always stunned when I hear the amount of urban legends which have been heard around the procedure. I have outlined below a selection of the mistakes that I come across all the time at Star Cosmetic Medicine, where I practise as a physician.

Mistaken Belief Number 1: I will lose my facial expressions!

The human face has 60 or so muscles. Their excessive use over a period of time may cause line formation. When surplus BoTox is employed facial muscles may become too relaxed. Most doctors would use comparatively low quantities to will result in you appearing refreshed, however you will still appear just as animated.

By employing the proper quantity of the preparation in exactly the right areas you can have a smoothing of any lines without any compromise in facial expression.

Visit and check out our one of a kind web site for Botulinum injections Sydney info.

Mistaken Belief Number 2: Botulinum is toxic!
This to some extent is correct. Its scientific name is Botulinum Toxin Type A. In massive amounts it can end up in a decrease in muscle tone or can make you very ill.

Pharmacists have a well-known phrase ‘everything is a poison - it all depends on the dose’. A large dose of any drug may cause sickness. If you drink too great a quantity of water you will die.

Mistaken Belief Number 3: BoTox injections hurt!
The hypodermic needles used at Star Cosmetic Medicine have a diameter smaller than a human hair. A lot of people have said that the shots aren’t as sore as getting bitten by mosquitoes. Certainly not as sore as getting a regular shot.

Mistaken Belief Number 4: I will lose feeling in my face!
Untrue. BoTox works on the junction between the nerve and the facial muscle, and not on the nerves of sensation. BoTox only affects the relaxation of muscular tissues.

Mistaken Belief Number 5. You have to keep having BoTox or you will develop worse wrinkles than before!
This is also false.

B.tox is thought to last for up to three months. Further injections tend to last longer. Eventually as muscle strength builds up again - the lines will eventually reappear. Even So your lines will not be more pronounced than when you started your treatment.

In fact any lines should be be softer than if you hadn’t had BoTox - even when you never repeat the treatment. This, of course is chiefly the case due to the fact your facial muscles and skin have had a ‘wrinkle holiday’ during the therapy.

Sydney Botulinum medicine (BoTox for short) is fast becoming established in Sydney society and has become an essential part of a beauty routine for people in the Harbour City.

Yet I am often stunned when I hear the number of urban legends which surround the procedure. Here I have outlines a few of the common myths frequently heard at Star Cosmetic Medicine in Pyrmont, Sydney.

Mistaken Belief Number 1: The muscles in my face might stiffen up!

The human face has about sixty muscles. Their continued use can cause line formation. Too large a dose of BoTox may result in the face appearing a liile bit less taut. The quantity used by almost all doctors result in you seeming refreshed, nevertheless you will of course maintain your facial expression.

So by using tiny amounts of the BoTox in exactly the right tissues facial expression is maintained whilst the wrinkles undergo a softening effect.

Mistaken Belief Number 2: BoTox is a deadly poison!
This to a small extent is correct. Its pharmaceutical term is Botulinum Toxin Type A. An overdose can end up in loss of muscle tone and even can cause sickness.

But to keep matters in perspective: an old chemist’s saying states that ‘everything is a poison - it all depends on the dose’. A large amount of any medication will cause illness. Water can kill you if you take too much.

Mistaken Belief Number 3: It will hurt!
Your hairs are larger than the hypodermic needles we have at Star Cosmetic Medicine. A lot of individuals say that the treatments are not as painful as a bug bite. It is certainly less painful than something like a blood test.

Visit and hop over to this extensive source for Sydney Botox clinics information

Mistaken Belief Number 4: I might lose feeling in my face!
Completely false. BoTox acts on the neuromuscular junction, and not on the nerves of sensation. BoTox just affects the ability to relax muscular tissues.

Mistaken Belief Number 5. You need to keep having BoTox or else you will get worse fine lines and wrinkles than before!
Once Again this is simply untrue.

One set of injections is effective for approximately 3 months. Consequent treatments do last longer. Eventually as muscle strength returns to normal - the wrinkles will reappear little by little. Even So they won’t be any deeper than before the treatment.

Even if you never had BoTox shots again - those lines will most likely be a little less pronounced than if you had not undergone the treatment. Primarily because your facial muscles and skin have had a ‘wrinkle holiday’ whilst the BoTox was active.

Fat Burning Supplements should never be the entire answer to losing weight, but used with a healthy consuming and exercise plan they can Assist you Get Thin faster and keep it off longer. There are generally two types of best fat burner diet pills: those that Help with short term diet and those that Help Oneself with long term weight loss.

I think there are 3 important criteria to consider when determining what the best Dieting tablets on the market are. First, is it sound? Second, is it effective? Third, is it actually good for you? I am going to answer these questions, in reverse order below.

First, let’s consider whether a weight loss supplement is actually good for you. I know this isn’t your primary concern, but I think you should try to use healthy Dieting aids whenever possible. If a diet supplement is all natural and has advantageous vitamins and minerals in it, it passes this exam.

Second, let’s consider how effective it is. Let’s face it, if it isn’t effective, nothing else matters. A healthy weight loss supplement that doesn’t work is simply a vitamin. If you have a supplement that is healthy and effective, you can move on to the last consideration, safety.

Finally let’s consider how healthy a supplement is. If the Dieting pill you are looking at passes the foremost two tests, there is a good chance that it is healthy too, but you should do a little research and see what kind of side effects other individuals have reported. It doesn’t mean you will necessarily have the same problems, but if you know what to look for, you can catch it before it becomes a problem.

blueberries by Vitablue is one example. Latterly, Agnes Rimando, a researcher at the U.S. Department of Agriculture has identified a new compound in blueberry bushes called pterostilbene (pronounced “tero-STILL-bean”). This nutrient compound is in the same family as resveratrol, another important antioxidant discovered in grape skins. Rimando’s research shows that pterostilbene has a powerful power to influence the metabolism of cholesterol and the synthesis of triglycerides. It does this by binding to a very specific receptor in the nucleus of a cell that is vital to the metabolism of fat. This receptor is called PPARa (peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha). Thus, pterostilbene is guiding a cell’s use of cholesterol and triglycerides, supporting healthy metabolic process. VitaBlue supports healthy metabolism and circulation, making it a terrific dietary supplement to go along with a healthy Dieting and exercise.

If all of your research indicates these three factors to be true than you should consider taking this Diet pill as a potential way to supplement your diet plans.

It’s not easy to talk about, but invisible lace wigs weren’t something I was familiar with. Modeling was the thing that occupied my mind. This applied till the day when my hair was falling out during chemotherapy. It was obvious that I can’t permit the possibility of being a thin-haired version of Demi Moore by sheer dumb luck.

I imagined that I lost my identity, robbed of my trademarked hair do. I resigned that it was out of my hands to get back fabulous hair. Man, I was incorrect. Before I got my authentic wig, I tried out a barrage of ridiculous fake hair weaves that got my texture all wrong. My man Jim told me about a few medical wig stores offering human hair wigs I would love.

Anyhow, I got online and checked it out. I noticed a cornucopia of astonishing, stylish real human hair wigs. Their breathable African American wigs made me so happy!

Given the proper wig, a woman in my situation should foster fearlessness when admitting to her balding. I’ve never been more excited to parade my new golden locks. It was exhilarating to proudly brush my hair while on the job.

Perhaps I’m getting out of hand as I ramble, however looks are important to my emotional well-being. Is it possible there’s something else to being alive than a fabulous style of hair? Girl, it doesn’t matter if it were true. Wigs are stylish fashion pieces to so many women.

You couldn’t imagine what this has meant to me. Only close friends and family know the reality of me and my thinning hair. Anyhow that’s life, I’m thankfully glad to be alive. Real human hair wigs improved things for me and everyone who depends on me.

Many may feel this life’s course superficial. They have no idea. Doesn’t everyone have something small that makes existing on earth so worthwhile? For me, it’s my career and my new wigs.

Love Your Hair!

There is such excitement in this cutting edge technology for laser hair removal. In order to decide if you want to use laser hair removal, you can check online for research and then you would need a doctor consultation.

Why should you use a laser to remove hair?

Lasers can target pigmented hair while leaving the skin around the laser treatment unaffected. With each pulse of the laser, you can treat many hairs. Each pulse only takes a fraction of a second. Compare this with electrolysis and you will see that laser hair removal is much more precise and faster.

Does laser hair removal really work?

The results are quite predictable. 90% of patients usually have permanent hair loss. 10% percent of patients, no matter what you do, hair loss just does not happen. Usually after each session, most of the treated hairs by the laser fallout. After about six weeks the hair follicles that have survived gradually start growing back. But on the average with each session, approximately one third of the hairs’ treated never return back and, therefore, are permanently removed.

The remaining hairs tend to be lighter in color and also smaller in size. Patients typically, on the average, are satisfied with three to five treatments separated by two months apart. Patients that have darker colored skin may need more sessions as their skin may require lower energy levels in order to be a safe treatment.

Will it work for me individually?

A consultation is required to determine if you really are a suitable candidate for a laser hair removal procedure. Dark, coarse hairs on any part of the body usually respond well. As a rule, very fine or very lightly colored hair whether it’s white, gray, or red, do not respond well to treatment.

Patients with dark complexions really need to be treated cautiously because the dark skin interferes with the laser light even before reaching the hair. With the latest technology available, there is some flexibility to treat a wide variety of patients effectively and safely.

What should I do before treatments?

Prior to treatments some protection from the sun is recommended. Usually for at least a month in advance. Tan skin increase the pigmentation and this can compete with the laser light. This can result in less effective sessions with a higher chance of side effects. The hairs in the areas that you want treated must be short but visible. It is very important not to pluck or wax the hair for a month prior to the treatments.

How long does each session usually last?

The treatment is relatively quick but also depends on the amount of hair to be treated. The laser can treat the hairs about the size of a quarter every second. A small area like the upper lip can be treated in less than a minutes, while large areas like the back or the legs may need up to an hour.

Will it hurt?

An anesthetic cream is usually recommended to numb the skin before treatments. This you will need to speak with the doctor and he can discuss with you which cream would be effective. The procedure is usually tolerated well with a mild sensation of heat tingling or stinging.

What should I expect after the Treatment?

The laser hair treatment area looks and feels much like a sunburn that usually last one to two days. You can use a cool compress and moisturizers. The area treated pretty much is usually pain-free the day after. Makeup can usually be used after the treatment unless there are blisters. Blisters, though not common, are more likely to happen in patients with darker skin. The lasered hair falls out over a month period and should not frighten you. Also, you should use sun protection for a month afterwards so it won’t change the pigment in your skin. Changes that sometimes may occur, which are permanent undesirable side effects, are scarring or skin color changes, though rare.

Again you really need to speak with a doctor before you even consider having laser hair removal. This is only general information and not to be taken as the only answers to these questions.

The secret of beautiful skin involves protecting it from the outside and nourishing it from the inside.

Women spend hundreds of millions of dollars on expensive miracle skincare products, but great looking skin does not have to be expensive!

The secret of beautiful skin is simply concentrating on both the inside and outside and this does not have to be expensive.

Protection from the outside

Harmful UV rays are far and away the biggest cause of skin damage and the advice when choosing a day cream is to make sure that is SPF 15.

In the evening use any cream you feel suits your skin type were all different, but don’t spend a lot of money, all you need to do is keep the skin hydrated.

There is no point in moisturizing your skin and then let the suns rays destroy it.

Everyday prevention is definitely better than cure. On the subject of cure, all the creams that claim to repair damage are simply pedalling to vanity - They don’t.

The myth of beautiful skin

A moisturizer can keep the skin hydrated and with SPF protect it and that’s all.

Its common sense, however many women fall for the hundreds of millions of year advertising campaigns that claim to give them a quick miracle and end up disappointed.

The real secret of beautiful skin is protection from the outside and nourishment from within - Combine the two and you will have beautiful skin.

Here are some great foods to include in your diet for radiant skin.

Drink lots of water

Two liters of water a day should be drunk this helps keep the skin hydrated and flush away toxins from the body

Eat vegetables & Fruit

Eat 2 - 3 portions of vegetables for lots of nutrients for the skin,

The best ones are below, but really any vegetable or fruit is good and in terms of vegetables try and eat them raw if you can.

Sweet potatoes tomatoes and spinach

For three important antioxidants

Beta-carotene is present in sweet potatoes, lycopene in tomatoes and lutein in spinach.

They enter the skin and help reflect harmful UV rays and act as a permanent sunscreen.

Cherries, blueberries, blackberries, grapes

Contain anthocyanins an antioxidant that keeps the skin supplied with nutrients through the blood vessels that lead into the face.

Oily fish

As we all know oily fish are a great source of protein to regenerate collagen and elastin, as well as omega 3 oils, these are essential to keep the skin both subtle and hydrated.

Good sources include: Salmon, mackerel, herrings and sardines.

Crab, sardines, lean beef and wheat germ

A good source of copper, a trace element that is essential for the making of melanin, the pigment in the skin that helps to absorb harmful UV rays from the sun.

It also helps fight age spots which are the most obvious sign of skin aging.

Soya milk, lentils, bean sprouts, yogurt & wholegrain cereals

These contain plant oestrogens, which help make lubricating oils and collagen in the skin for a healthier complexion. They also repair collagen and elastin, which slow down the thinning of the skin and the formation of fine lines which most women fear!

Oats

Contain the trace element silic acid, which is used to make the spongy cells that lie between collagen and elastin fibers. This makes the skin full and plump and by consequence slows down the formation of fine lines.

Whole meal pitta, gogi berries & muesli

Pitta contains ferulic acid, berries contain vitamin c, muesli contains vitamin E. These are great antiaging vitamins

Vitamin C and e are great for fighting harmful UV rays and gogi berries have 15 times more vitamin C than an orange gram for gram.

The secret of beautiful skin is actually simple!

Protect from the outside and nourish from the inside. Forget the miracle cures follow the advice above and you will have beautiful radiant skin for life.
